The latest Legend of Zelda game has just been released a day or two ago, called ‘A Link Between Worlds’. It’ll be coming to Japan on December 26th and is the second retail game in the series that is available on the Nintendo 3DS, right after Ocarina of Time 3D.
The game chronologically takes place between Link’s Awakening and The Legend of Zelda, six generations after the events of A Link to the Past. This is also a different version of Link, which makes sense as that incarnation of the hero would have died long ago.

Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Items Upgrades
As in all Legend of Zelda games, Link will eventually come across the master sword, but unlike many of the other games, this time he can upgrade it, as well as many of the other items in his possession.
You can do this in various ways but it mostly involves you taking a certain item and the tool in question to a certain NPC and paying them to upgrade the item.
Here is the list of the upgradeable items, as well as the process by which you can improve them:
Master Sword Level 2 (Tempered Sword)
For this one you basically just need to give the Blacksmith in Hyrule two pieces of Master Ore. This is af course after you already have the original Master Sword.
Master Sword Level 3 (Golden Sword)
Give blacksmith in Lorule two more pieces of Master Ore after the first upgrade.
Nice Mallet
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Boomerang
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Bow
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Bombs
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Hookshot
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Tornado Rod
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Fire Rod
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Ice Rod
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Sand Rod
For this one you need to collect 10 Maiamais and give them back to Mother Maiamai.
Nice Net
Complete the Treacherous Tower’s Advanced Mode twice in order to get this.
Nice Lantern
Complete the Treacherous Tower’s Advanced Mode once in order to get this.
Great Spin Attack
Collect all 100 Maiamais and give them all back to Mother Maiamai for this one.
