The press event of Microsoft when Sunset Overdrive was announced really impressed many of us. The only thing was that we didn’t know when to expect the game exactly. Microsoft has now clarified that and confirmed that the game will be out in 2014.
The news came out through the latest Xbox Live Wire post on Microsoft’s website yesterday. Though most of the post was about Xbox One’s launch, they talked about the games that are supposed to come to the console in the future and the news was pinched in there.
Other games that were mentioned in the Xbox Live Wire were Titanfall and Project Spark. A tweet on Sunset Overdrive’s official profile later confirmed the news that was found on the Wire post.

In case you missed out on E3 when Sunset Overdrive was initially revealed, it is a one of a kind open world shooter. Most of your city has turned into mutants and you have to figure out a way to fight them off. Of course it is the basic concept behind all apocalypse based games but this one just gives it a colorful and rather hip twist. Here’s how:
“With an arsenal of kick-ass, overpowered weapons and a knack for traversing the city with hyper agility, it’s not the end of days for you. This is your awesomepocalypse.”
As far as the gameplay has concerned, we have been told that Sunset Overdrive will get regular content updates that will be based on the player’s behavior analysis. Also, the single player mode will be playable offline.
