Are 1 Million Xbox One Units in 24 Hours the Same as PS4’s?

The first 24 hours after the Xbox One’s release have been pretty frantic and the figures have finally started to come in.

We have learnt that Microsoft’s latest console has raised havoc all over, 1 Million Xbox One units have been sold in the first 24 hours.

This is a new record for Microsoft too. Reaching one million sales units on the day one has made Xbox One’s launch the biggest console launch in the history of Xbox. According to a post on the Xbox website, the console is nearly sold out on most of the retailers and stock replenishments would be on their way as soon as possible.

“Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team. We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Xbox CVP of marketing and strategy.

Hold up, there is more. This is the surely the same figure that Sony reported for their PlayStation 4 after it’s day one last week, but there is a difference between the two. PlayStation 4 was released officially to the North American region alone i.e. US and Canada, while the Xbox One has been released to 13 territories.

Apart from US and Canada, it was released to Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand as well. So what do we make of that?

Nevertheless, it has been the biggest launch ever for the company with over 60 million zombies being killed in Dead Rising 3, 3.6 million mile being driven n Forza 5, 7.1 million combos in Killer Instinct and over 8.5 million enemies being defeated in Ryse: Son of Rome.
