Castle of Illusion Storms onto iOS Today with a Price Tag of $9.99

The release of Sonic the Hedgehog in early 1990’s had done a lot of good to SEGA as a company but Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse which used to be a major attraction got overshadowed. Looks like SEGA believe in not letting go of the oldies, a remake of Castle of Illusion has been released to iOS today.

The game was originally developed and released to PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and PC in the first week of September. The iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch version has been eased out a little later.

It is an HD reimagining of the SEGA Genesis classic developed by Sega itself in partnership with Disney Interactive. You enter into a side scrolling world where Mickey Mouse heads to the Castle of Illusion where he has to rescue Minnie from the evil clutches of Mizrabel.

The SEGA blog reads:

“Gather your courage and traverse enchanted forests, take on hordes of rebellious toys and navigate mazes of living books. Play as Mickey and save Minnie from Mizrabel’s evil clutches!”

You will be journeying across five magical worlds filled with Mizrabel’s powerful minions and while you are at it, complete hidden challenges to customize Mickey with costumes.

The game is currently available for download at the iTunes App Store for $9.99.

Have you played Castle of Illusion on either of the consoles or the PC? Would you try it out on your iPhone?
