Rumors of Naughty Dog working on a next-gen version of their incredibly successful Uncharted franchise were confirmed at the eve of the PlayStation 4’s launch. Naughty Dog will indeed be bringing a new Uncharted game to the PlayStation 4; one which promises to raise the bar for storytelling and visual aesthetics.
An accompanying teaser trailer features narration by an unfamiliar voice; whose talk signifies the fourth installment to be themed around the concept of ‘revenge’. The video itself pans out across a map of the southern tip of Africa and towards Madagascar.
There have been other rumors of the new Uncharted featuring an entirely new cast. Naughty Dog wouldn’t comment on whether the series protagonist Nathan Drake would return or not, but the company’s president did say that the teaser video might contain a few clues about the game.
In a post on the PlayStation blog, Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer stated how the new game is going to be better in every way imaginable.
“Our goal is to continue what we’ve done in previous console generations and once again deliver the best in storytelling, performance capture, technical innovation and graphics on the PS4,” Meyer wrote. “We can confirm that the voiceover is performed by Todd Stashwick and he will play a character in the game.”
