PlayStation App Goes Live on iOS and Android

Since the day Sony showcased their PlayStation App at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, it has been awaited anxiously.

Now that the next generation console itself will be in your living rooms two days from now, Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation App has been released to iOS and Android platforms.

The application will be compatible with smartphones and tablets both. Of you go into the details of that, the Google Play Store requires Android 4.0 and up while the iTunes App Store suggests you to have iOS 6.0 or later.

The iOS app is optimized for iPhone 5 though it is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch as well.

Some of the highlighted features will let you see the recent activities of your friends and view trophies using the “what’s new” tab. You will be able to chat with your friends and receive all the notifications that you’d get on your PlayStation 4 including game alerts and invites as well.

A previously detailed feature will let you pick games from the PlayStation Store and push them for downloading on your PlayStation 4, when you get back to your console the game will be ready to play.

Although big publishers will have their own game apps but for the smaller developers can make use of the PlayStation App and use it as a second screen via the Connect to PS4 feature.
