Last month both FuturLab and Curve Digital announced that they would be bringing their critically acclaimed PlayStation Vita title Velocity Ultra on to the PlayStation 3 this year and in full HD. The announcements regarding that specific title do not end just there.
Today the game’s developer revealed that they are currently also working on a PC version of Velocity Ultra and it will be released in time for Christmas this year.
In a statement passed along to VG247, Curve Studios managing director Jason Perkins said: “Bringing Velocity Ultra to the PC is a project we’re really proud to be involved with. Vertical shooters are a genre that has traditionally been under-served on the PC – despite a huge demand for interesting, unique shooters on the platform – and Velocity is one of the best ever made.”
Velocity Ultra will be released on the PlayStation 3 this year in HD but without Cross-Buy or Cross-Save options. Apart from that it will still include all the rest of its Vita features, as well as being able to share trophies and leaderboards with the Vita version. A new announcement regarding the console version has been promised by Curve to be made “very soon”.
