Publisher Konami has announced an upcoming update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (PES 2014), which will extend content with new visuals, as well as perform some fixes. It’s noted to arrive later this month.
First off, the data will follow up on recent transfers to make all team lineups current, which is a common practice for the yearly football titles.
Additionally, several kits and accessories will be included. For instance, teams like Santos, Palmeiros and Flamengo will join the available choices, each with their respective correct sponsorships.
New boots from brands like Adidas, Nike and Puma will supplement the game as well. These will be available in the Edit Mode, which will receive some tweaks for easier use.
Final cosmetic changes come in the form of over 800 new faces, which should drastically improve the appearance of the sports title.
Despite using Konami’s Fox Engine for the first time, PES 2014 did have issues with realistically depicting known stars at first. The engine also caused performance issues in cinematic sequences.
Still, the data pack’s most notable change comes from its improvement of the game’s online presence, after fan feedback. Most importantly, it finally adds an 11 Vs 11 multiplayer mode, which was greatly sought after.
Further improvements in the pack are planned for the chat elements, the Master League Online mode and other online competitions, as well as a new Team Play lobby system.
With these additions, it looks like it’s going after competitor FIFA 14, which offers more game modes than PES 2014, as well as more leagues. FIFA also operates on its own social network.
