Localization expert Aksys Games is bringing BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma to North America in March of 2014. This Playstation 3 exclusive is the latest in the company’s prime 2D fighting series, which previously also spanned across platforms like Xbox 360 and PSP. This iteration has gone from the arcades to only being on Sony’s console.
As a special incentive, a BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Limited Edition has been announced, which will cost $79.99. That price nets you five physical goodies, containing a few exclusive items.
For starters, you’ll receive an art book with 40 pages of game art, as well as specially created illustrations. You’ll be able to complement that with an official soundtrack CD bearing compositions from Daisuke Ishiwatari.
More notably, the limited edition comes with an exclusive Rachel Alucard nendoroid, which is only available through this package. Nendoroids are special figurines with interchangeable body parts, molded in a super deformed or “chibi” style.
Another exclusive is a fighting moves poster, which contains the game’s full roster of playable characters, as well as a reference for their move set.
Finally, an additional Blu-ray disc is included with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the series’ creator, Toshimichi Mori. It is said to also contain some yet to be determined exclusives.
In BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, players will be able to get reacquainted with the fighting title’s known circular commands with redesigned moves. Furthermore, newcomers can play in Stylish Mode to get a hang of the mechanisms.
This iteration adds five new fighters to the existing roster and will implement a ranking system for its online play.
