Looks like this holiday season will double the joy for Nintendo fans, a redesigned version of Nintendo’s Wii Mini shipped to United States. According to a press release by the console manufacturer that came out today, the console will release in United States around mid November.
The console is being bundled with Mario Kart Wii, the kart racing game from Nintendo EAD and will be priced at $100. It will be worth mentioning here that the price levels with the android driven console Ouya which has been launched only recently – makes me wonder will there be any who would still choose Ouya over Wii Mini?
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Sales & Marketing executive vice president commented:
“Wii mini offers the same fun experience as Wii, which has been enjoyed by millions of people around the world, and it comes packaged with Mario Kart Wii, a multiplayer Mario racing game that is one of the best-selling Wii games. At such a great price, it is an extraordinary value for shoppers this holiday season.”
Wii Mini was launched last year as a Canada exclusive product in December, releasing it to United States would render the North American market covered. After selling more than 35,000 units in the first two months in Canada, the mini console was introduced to UK in March this year.
For those who don’t know much about the Wii Mini and are expecting a full console replacement, hold your horses; Wii Mini doesn’t support internet connectivity which means buying it will confine you to single player games and local multiplayers. Now that is probably why the folks at Ouya won’t be too ruffled about this.
