Sony has posted an “Ultimate PlayStation 4 FAQ” covering every material related to their new console which launches in a couple of weeks.
Posted on their PlayStation Blog, the FAQ details any questions consumers might have regarding the console’s game lineup, used games policy, the new DualShock 4, other peripherals, Vita remote play, PlayStation Plus, and gameplay sharing.
Amongst the lot Sony has mentioned that those not willing to connect their console online to activate their Blu-ray and DVD capabilities can instead place an order for a Blu-ray activation through SCEA Consumer services. The disc will then be sent through mail. The offer though is only for PlayStation 4 owners in North America.
PS4 owners in North America can contact SCEA Consumer Services at (800) 345-7669 to request a Blu-ray activation disc that will be distributed via mail.
Furthermore the FAQ also confirms that the console won’t support the use of external hard drives but PS4 owners can still swag out and replace the console’s stock 500 GB hard drive. The only thing you need to watch out for is that the replacement hard disk should be larger than 160 GB and not exceed a thickness of 9.5 mm.
The PlayStation 4’s games lineup took a bit of hit with Ubisoft delaying Watch Dogs, a most anticipated open-world title of this year. While many would be sad to not be able to play the title on their new console, consumers still have the following to look forward to:
