Ayrton Senna Institute, the organization founded in the name of the famed F1 driver and Sony Computer Entertainment America are planning a “long term partnership.” The first outcome of the deal is going to be the inclusion of online content into the upcoming racing simulator that will be dedicated towards unraveling the history of Ayrton Senna.
Ayrton Senna Institute (non profit making organization) president Viviane Senna and Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi took to stage at the Brazil Game Show 2013 to announce the partnership. Viviane Senna is the sister of the acclaimed driver who was killed in the San Marino Grand Prix 1994.
“As part of this collaboration, Gran Turismo 6 will feature the legendary Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna through online updates, enabling players to trace the roots of his racing career” reads official post.
Ayrton Senna has always been my hero, and I’m honored to be able to work as a partner with the Ayrton Senna Institute which has carried on his legacy,” said Yamauchi. “If it wasn’t for Ayrton Senna, I don’t think the video game, Gran Turismo, would ever have been developed. Nothing makes me happier than to relay the gratitude of Ayrton Senna Foundation, to all the players of Gran Turismo 6.
The exact nature and extent of the partnership is not known yet but looking at how the institute in question is a non profit organization I am expecting, rather hoping, that they benefit out of it.
Ayrton Senna Institute was founded six months after the driver’s death and works to benefit of needy children. They provide literary and other educational skills.
Other than this, Ayrton Senna Limited Edition PlayStation 3 bundle was also announced which will bring the Brazilian PlayStation and racing simulation fans a copy of Gran Turismo 6 along with one million in game case and 25 modified cars – IGN reported.
Gran Turismo 6 comes out on December 6.
