Call of Duty: Ghosts Brings Launch Countdown Double XP Week Starting Today!

By   /   Oct 25, 2013

Well, not to say that the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts in itself isn’t a biggie, but there’s more to it than just the next game in the series. To top that off, it is not just the fans who feel like celebrating the release but the developer and publisher too.

In that order, a double XP week has been announced as a celebratory event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Thanks to the Launch Countdown Double XP Week, both MW3 and Black Ops 2 users will get a whole week of double XP starting from today i.e. Friday, October 25 and going up to next Friday, November 1.

Impressively, and in fact more impressively than the launch trailer of the game, there is more coming your way. This one is exclusive to the loyal fans that have been playing the game for a long time and have not skipped out on the previous two games mentioned above. As a token of their loyalty, they will be awarded with exclusive backgrounds for their soldiers.

“We’re offering exclusive in-game backgrounds in Call of Duty: Ghosts for those that have played the previous two games. You can pick a background to showcase for each of your soldiers, so other players will see your veteran status” reads the official announcement.

A total of six backgrounds are up for grabs, but each comes with its own prerequisite. If you have played Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 2 multiplayer you get two of the backgrounds. If you have prestiged once or more in the two games you get two more.

The fifth background requires you to have achieved the 10th level of prestige in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 while you will be able to use the last one as your Call of Duty: Ghosts background if you have reached the maximum prestige in Black Ops 2.

So tell me, how would you like that double XP weekend to max up on your prestige?
