Injustice: Gods Among Us Upgradable from PS3 to PS4

Sony has announced that the NetherRealm Studios’ developed fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us will be joining the ranks of Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14 and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag in being upgradable to PlayStation 4 if you’ve already bought the PlayStation 3 version.

The Digital Upgrade Program allows players to upgrade their purchases of Battlefield, Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed and NBA to their next-gen counterparts for a small fee. This basically gets you two copies of the same game, on separate platforms.

The way it works is that when you buy one of these games for the PS3, you have the option of buying the PS4 version online as well, but it’ll only cost you about $9.99 instead of the full retail price.

There will be a secret code packed into the PS3 version of the game. You can input it on the PlayStation 4 to download the PS4 version. You’ll need to use the original PS3 disc in the PS4 console to activate and start playing.

However, you do not need a PS4 to redeem your code. You can redeem your code, then download your digital copy when your PS4 turns up.
