Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released gameplay footage of an entire level from Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
The footage is captured directly from the Vita version of the game and is narrated by Armature game director Mark Pacini, who highlights the game’s prison level design, controls and combat.
The video also offers a good look at how Batman deals with situations involving stealth and his detective skills. The Detective mode has been reworked by Armature to better fit the 2.5D perspective and Vita’s touchscreen. The Anaylyzer screen, as they put it, enables Batman to scope out the environment for possible traps and points of interests. In the video, Pacini uses it to detect a spike-trap laid out by one of Penguin’s thugs.
It’s perhaps a bit too early to say if Blackgate is a worthy purchase. The PlayStation Vita is a powerful handheld and I personally would had wanted to see something more coming out from Armature.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is going to release tomorrow alongside Batman: Arkham Origins. Blackgate will be available on the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
