The PlayStation 4’s release is almost upon us and with just over three weeks to go, Sony has begun its viral promotional campaign for its new next-gen console.
The latest video takes viewers back to 1995 and then takes a trip forward memory lane to the present era. Titled “For the Players”, the commercial shows a lad and his friends growing up with PlayStation consoles, starting with the original PlayStation One, then transitioning to PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 3 and finally as an adult is enjoying his PlayStation 4.
The transitioning is also accompanied by various posters and other objects littered around the room, showing off what was popular in that specific era. There are Final Fantasy VII posters, Crash Bandicoot merchandize, all of which transition to Gran Turismo 3 and Metal Gear Solid 3 game packs on the ground. The landscape keeps on changing similarly in the video and also shows the change in aspect ratios for the consoles.
The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15, 2013 at a price of $399.
