I’ll be blatant about this one; I did not like the sound of it. Nevertheless what’s going to happen is going to happen and right now we are talking about nearly four month of delay in the release date of Watch Dogs – pity.
The game was previously confirmed for a November 19 release in North America and November 22 for the UK but a post on Ubi Blog announced that the game will not be released into the markets anytime before Spring 2014.
“Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014” reads the post that has been accredited to the Watch Dogs development teams.
We, just like you, were wondering why they would do something that could really be devastating. The response from Ubisoft is somewhat comforting, here’s what they had to say:
“We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”
Well, I don’t mind waiting for a game I am eyeballing if it’s meant to being it in a better shape but where does the delay of The Crew come in? Yes, Ubisoft have delayed the open world racing videogame too but that’s for another news story.
Were you waiting for Watch Dogs as bad as I was?
