Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment Coming to Vita in 2014

If you’re a fan of the Sword Art Online anime or manga then you’re going to be excited about this little bit of news. It seems that Namco Bandai is releasing Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment for the Playstation Vita. You can check out the trailer in the header.

This time you’ll be taking control of Kirito and exploring an unknown part of Aincrad called the ‘Hollow Area’. Kirito will run across a mysterious new girl, who the story of the game likely revolves around. Asuna will also be making an appearance, as we can see her fighting alongside Kirito in the trailer.

Namco Bandai’s previous game of the series, Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment, a RPG with an MMORPG setting on PlayStation Portable, had impressively shipped over 200,000 units earlier this year.

The setting of Sword Art Online is that of a group of kids who become trapped in an MMORPG game while wearing virtual reality headsets. If they die in the game the headsets will kill them, therefore the only way to get out of the game is to beat it.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is slated for release next year on PlayStation Vita.
