Playstation’s Dualshock 4 Compatible With Windows Without Drivers

An interesting bit of news recently came our way through Sony Computer Entertainment head honcho, Shuhei Yoshida’s Twitter feed. Apparently, the Playstation 4’s Dualshock 4 controller will be compatible with Windows and will not even require any drivers.

Yoshida was a bit vague though, all he said on the topic was that the Analog sticks and the buttons would work just fine. Not sure what ‘just fine’ entails, but as long as I can use it to play games then I’ll be happy.

Upon further questioning, Yoshida asked fans to wait until after the field report is released from the launch.

Well, chalk up one for the Sony side of the PS4 vs. Xbox One debate. It’s interesting that the Dualshock 4 will work on Windows ‘just fine’ without drivers but Microsoft has previously announced that their controller will not be compatible with a PC until they release the drivers in 2014.

We’ll see if these claims are true or just another case of a man on Twitter sticking his foot in his mouth. For Sony’s sake, I hope it’s true, but honestly it’s not that big of a deal.
