An ‘Ultimate Edition’ for Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios’ critically acclaimed fighting game based on DC Comics’ superhero universe – Injustice: Gods Among Us, has been confirmed by the publisher.
Warner announced that the Ultimate Edition will launch on the 29th of November, and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PC and PlayStation 4. There was no mention of an Xbox One release or a Wii U version of the Ultimate Edition for that matter.
It should be noted that the original game did release on Wii U. The omission of the two platforms by the publisher could be deliberate, or perhaps simply a mistake.
The ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition’ will include all the content from the original game along with the myriad of DLCs later released. According to Warner, the combined worth of all the content should be somewhere around $100, and the suggested retail price for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 versions is said to be $50. The PC and Vita versions will have a retail price of $30.
The PS4 version, which has been ported by High Voltage, will make use of the next-gen console’s video-streaming functionalities and sharing features. Additionally, it will make use of the new DualShock’s touchpad, but it wasn’t specified as to how exactly it would be used.
The PC version has also been made by High Voltage while the Vita version of the game has been worked on by the studio responsible for the upcoming ‘Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate’, Armature Studio.
The Ultimate Edition features all six of the DLC characters; Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, Lobo and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, in addition to the original roster. It will also have over 40 extra skins for the characters and all 60 S.T.A.R. Labs missions.
