Battlefield: Bad Company is Expected to Make a Comeback

In a recent event, creative director Lars Gustavsson; when asked about the possibility of another game in the Battlefield: Bad Company universe, revealed his interest in continuing the humorous albeit realistic franchise and responded with the following statement:

“My feeling is that I would love to do it. For me, when we started the company with 1942, it was really a work of passion. And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.

So I love it. I want to see it again. Whether it can happen [right] now with the newly announced Mirrors Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront… but we’ll see. But trust me, the Bad Company [team] isn’t forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation. So they are out there, they’re coming back.”

Earlier this year, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau disclosed EA’s plan to take turns releasing three core shooters from here onwards – namely Battlefield, Respawn’s Titanfall and Star Wars: Battlefront (also in development at DICE).

With Battlefield 4 releasing in less than a month, DICE will find themselves working on DLCs for it, while simultaneously developing the Mirror’s Edge sequel and the Battlefront game that were announced at this year’s E3.

All this should keep the people at DICE busy for a while, but it should be reassuring for fans of the Bad Company franchise to know that the possibility of another game exists.

With the Medal of Honor series taking a lengthy breather, we just might see Bad Company make a comeback in the future. Do you want another Bad Company game, or do you want DICE to focus on the core Battlefield games? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
