Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition Coming to PC on November 15
The Enhanced Edition for the sequel to BioWare’s classic Baldur’s Gate now has a release date. Slated for a 15th November (2013) release, the “definitive” version of Baldur’s Gate 2 has been worked on by Overhaul Games, the same studio that made the ‘Enhanced Edition’ for 1998’s Baldur’s Gate and its expansion, Tales of the Sword Coast.
Much like their previous overhaul, the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate 2 includes the original Shadows of Amn along with its expansion Throne of Baal.
Both have been optimized for contemporary systems along with all the visuals; which have been updated for modern HD displays, and a slew of new content has been included as well. The content features four new potential allies and corresponding quest threads and a new arena challenge titled “The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay”.
The November 15th release for the now 13-year old classic is for the PC and Mac versions of the game. Available for pre-purchase, the game is priced at $24.95 and can be purchased from Beamdog’s website or from Steam for the same price. Those who pre-purchase will get a pre-load slightly before the release so that they can start playing right at launch.
Android and iOS versions are planned (as was the case with the Enhanced Edition for the first game) but release dates for those platforms have not been announced as of yet. Will you get the Enhanced Edition to one of BioWare’s most critically acclaimed game? Let us know in the comments below.
