Grand Theft Auto Online has gone live and Rockstar would just like to remind us all of what to expect on launch day.
First of all the online mode comes free with every copy of Grand Theft Auto V. Logging in now will have you meet a “small downloadable title update” which upon installation will grant you access to GTA Online.
Rockstar realizes that almost every GTA fan has an itchy trigger finger. Hence to prevent “griefing” players are allowed to invite others over to their crib. Once a player is invited in, they cannot use their weapons or steal cars from the garage.
There are only limited number of properties in the game but every player has his/her own instance of that property. So if two players own a single property and player 1 invites a friend over to his house. The friend will enter player 1’s instance and not mistakenly wind up in player 2’s property.
The confirmation of micro-transactions brings the question of whether players being able to burn real cash will have an edge over proceedings.
Rockstar has assured that the game is not designed that way. Purchasing GTA$ will not at all “disrupt the playing field”. Everyone has to play and rank up with Reputation Points in order to access high-end items.
The world of GTA Online features an abundance of jobs for everyone and these are only going to increase with time. Additionally “you will soon be helping to add content to the game world yourselves, by creating custom Race and Deathmatch Jobs through the Content Creator tool” which is scheduled to release this fall.
Social Club members in GTA Online get special access to weaponry and vehicles, including Sawed-off sthogun and Annis Elegy RH8. Once the user-created jobs tool launches this fall, players will be able to publish playlists and bookmark jobs.
Crew customization options include new Crew colors and Emblems for vehicles, Crew messaging options, and Open or Closed Crew Sessions. Additionally members of the Social Club will be able to access John Marston Parent in character customization.
If you’re playing GTA Online right now, tell us later of how your experience was.
