Druid Gameworks are well known for their modding work associated with Elder Scrolls games Oblivion and Skyrim. After literally a decade of work for the modding community, Druid Gameworks has now launched a crowd funding campaign for its first independent single-player RPG.
The game is called Unwritten: Echoes of Twilight and is set in “the world of Arthanswold” or particularly in “the heartland isles of Aerendwel and Byre.” It’s being powered by the Havok engine and will feature a sizable open-world consisting of different terrains, including mountains, jungles and marshlands.
Unwritten: Echoes of Twilight is in the early stages of development and hence there isn’t very much to show. The team though hopes that their previous work will attract backers on its Kickstarter campaign and help draw support in raising $500,000. So far it has managed to gain $14,694 with 222 backers in the past three days; with 27 more days to go before the campaign expires.
According to the game’s description on the campaign page, players will be able to choose not only companions but also pets, some of which can be mounted and ridden across the plains. Players themselves can opt for an avatar out of six playable races, with each having an effect on the progression of your storyline. Much like conventional RPGs, players’ choices are also going to have a major impact on the storyline.
If you’re interested in seeing what this team can cook up for themselves, pledge $30 to them and hence become entitled to a digital copy of the game for PC upon completion. Unwritten: Echoes of Twilight has been scheduled for a late 2014 release if everything goes according to plan.
