It’s always good to have something lighthearted to kill time with when you are down and out with the mainstream games, that is exactly what The Playroom is about. During PAX Prime’s PlayStation Event, it was announced that Double Fine will be creating a DLC for Sony’s Augmented Reality games collection.
The Playroom is a collection of mini games involving the usage of PlayStation’s camera as announced initially at the E3 earlier this year. Later on it was added through Sony’s Gamescom conference in Cologne that all the next-gen consoles will have a pre-installed version of The Playroom.
Now building up on that news, we have learnt that an expansion pack is already under construction at the hands of Double Fine. It’s the same developer which is responsible for Massive Chalice a turn based role playing tactics game that was announced in May this year as well as Broken Age another Kickstarter venture just like Massive Chalice.
The announcement was made by Tony Boyes of Sony who said that Double Fine was working on the first (of many probably) DLC for the inbuilt games room. He said so while addressing an Indie Arcade Event of PlayStation 4 at the PAX Prime.
Regardless of the skepticism, even if The Playroom has smaller games it could still be of good use to the kids as well as to showcase PS4’s features in a better way.
The event concluded with just that, no release date for the DLC was shared. We are awaiting the price details as well; as some of the fans would simply want it to be free of cost, let’s see what Sony decides on.
