Alright so this comes as news to everyone of us; the first story details of Halo for Xbox One have been outed in a rather unexpected manner. The Microsoft Store showed a listing for the game’s preorder with a small description, release date and of course the price.
The US Microsoft Store uploaded the details and later removed them for reasons better known to them but thanks to a NeoGAF user and the quick hands of AllGamesBeta we have a screenshot of the listing.
Halo’s description shown on the page hinted towards a quest of staying alive in a galaxy where conscious life is being preyed on ruthlessly. The description goes:
“In possession of a mysterious data chip, Petty Officer John-117, aka Master Chief, confronts a new battery of challenges and tests in a Herculean effort to stay alive in a galaxy where sentient life is mercilessly hunted.”
So Master Chief continues his saga to worlds beyond with a game that is probably the most anticipated science fiction and now an Xbox exclusive. Talking of, the listing offered the game for a preorder at a price of $59.99 – free shipping, free returns of course.
Other than that, the second major leak was the totally unexpected release date. If Microsoft Store is to be taken for granted, the game would come out on 12/31/14 – but then again, the page came and went just like that and Microsoft was probably not willing to make anything official just yet. We could now expect an official word soon.
343 Industries have not claimed this installment to be Halo 5 and so far it is being referred to with a lame title; Halo for Xbox One. On a side note, Microsoft has confirmed that the game’s official title will not be Halo for Xbox One.
