Ouya Gets Added to the Pile of Platforms for The Walking Dead

It is good news when you see a game hitting all the major platforms. It is even better news to see that some of the games are making way towards lesser known platforms too. Ouya, the Android based gaming console will now get a version of The Walking Dead complete with the first season and the 400 Days DLC.

The Walking Dead has already covered a vast range of platforms and with the pace they are going it makes me thinking they want the game to be available on every platform imaginable. Previously the game was playable on PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and iOS and now they have added Ouya to the list.

We had reported earlier that the game was being shipped to Japan in collaboration with Cyberfront, the visual novel publisher, this furthers how Telltale are all up for expanding the game to regions and platforms previously untouched by it.

The Waking Dead being an episodic graphic adventure will be following the same pattern when t releases to Ouya. The good news for those who own this console is that the first episode; A New Day will be free so you can hook up to the rest of it if you like what you see.

For those of you who are wondering what would become of the second season; rest assured. Just as soon as the second season is out it has been confirmed to be launched on Ouya as well –though we are still waiting fervently for that to happen on all the platforms.

The curvy grey console from OUYA Inc. has been priced at a low $99 and amazingly the console has proven to be a hot item. There have been negative reviews regarding the console too (you can read more about them here) but the overall sales performance could be used to write them off.
