Hidden Luigis in New Super Luigi U are basically pictures of luigi displayed in multiple ways, whether they may be shadows on the wall, an object in the background or even a sprite from the series’ old days.

These are hidden in every level of New Super Luigi U and it’s indeed a fun to try and find them all and have that amazing sense of accomplishment when you’ve found them all.

New Super Luigi U Hidden Luigis Locations

Here are the locations of all Super Luigis in each World:

Acorn Plains

Hidden Luigi #1Waddlewing Warning!
Location. This isn’t exactly a hidden luigi as you’ll see it as soon as the level starts

Hidden Luigi #2Crooked Cavern
Location. Near the end of the level flag there are some blocks, break the some of them to find the 8 bit luigi underneath

Hidden Luigi #3Flame Gear Tower
Location. When you reach the third Star Coin, head to the extreme left to the final floating gear which has flame spouts, htere will be a small 8 bit luigi on the bottom left of the gear as it rotates.

Hidden Luigi #4Rolling Yoshi Hills
Location. Along the path of this level, you’ll find several pillars where moles come from to chase you, one of them has Luigi’s silhouette drawn on it.

Hidden Luigi #5Piranha Heights
Location. Again, another not so well “hidden” luigi, located alongside the third Star Coin.

Hidden Luigi #6Piranha Gardens
Location. After the hammer bro defending the second star coin, of the bushes is actually trimmed in the shap of luigi.

Hidden Luigi #7Lemmy’s Lights out Castle
Location. Simply find this 8 bit luigi by moving close to the right wall next to the door which leads you to Lemmy.

Hidden Luigi #8Cheep Chomp Chase
Location. Pay attention to the alternating pipe right over the red coin circle, you’ll notice it revealing an 8 bit Luigi as it alternates.

Layer-Cake Desert

Hidden Luigi #1Spike’s Tumbling Desert
Location. This hidden Luigi is found amongst the fossils on the side of the platform which slopes downwards to a P-block.

Hidden Luigi #2Underground Grrrols
Location. You’ll need a P-Wing to reach this cleverly hidden Luigi, fly upwards at the start of the level and run across the top towards the end of it and you’ll find Luigi embedded in the rocks.

Hidden Luigi #3Wind-up Tower
Location. Follow the trail of coins where the blocks have been moved by the wind up and find this Luigi below the third star coin.

Hidden Luigi #4The walls have eyes
Location. Right alongside the pipe leading to the Secret Exit, there’s a mini pipe, return to the level with a mini mushroom and you’ll find a room with a giant statue and coins, simply ground pound the statue to uncover an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #5Stone Spike Conveyors
Location. You can find this Luigi right above the Gauntlet of Spikes near the end of the level, it’s embedded on a platform along the top of the area.

Hidden Luigi #6Spinning Sandstones
Location. After passing the area leading to the second Star Coin, you will notice a platform with three statues, if you look closely you’ll realize that the one in the middle is Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #7Morton’s Lava-Block Castle
Location. Right after you obtain the second Star Coin you’ll see the sprite of an 8 bit luigi on the lava, showing what happens if you hit the lava.

Hidden Luigi #8Slippery Rope Ladders
Location. Thaw the ice just to the left of the Star Coin and you’ll uncover the hidden Luigi.

Sparkling Waters

Hidden Luigi #1Huckit Beach Resort
Location. Alongside the second Star Coin, there’s a rather large 8-bit Luigi swimming.

Hidden Luigi #2Urchin Reef Romp
Location. Right before the area where you encouter the giant Urchins, there’s a Luigi in the foreground.

Hidden Luigi #3Shish-Kebab Tower
Location. As you’re going up the tower, simply look towards the right and you’ll see the large 8 bit Luigi crafted in the foreground.

Hidden Luigi #4Haunted Cargo Hold
Location. You can see this Luigi after taking the pipe down to the Cargo Hold right under the platform.

Hidden Luigi #5Waterspout Sprint
Location. To the left of the Red Coin ring, beneath the waterspouts there is an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #6The Great Geysers
Location. At the very start of the level, go to the left and you’ll see Luigi carved onto the side of the wall.

Hidden Luigi #7Larry’s Trigger-Happy Castle
Location. At the far right of the room with the second Star Coin, hitting the P-Switch will reveal the hidden Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #8Beanstalk Jungle
Location. This Luigi is hidden right next to the Leaf next to the second Star Coin.

Frosted Glacier

Hidden Luigi #1Broozers And Barrels
Location. Finishing the level with a repeated number of seconds left, such as 11, 22 and 33 etc. will cause toad to give you a present, which apparently is next to a Luigi snowman.

Hidden Luigi #2Cooligan Shrooms
Location. As you’re moving along the frozen Colligan and approach the final Star Coin, there’s an 8-bit Luigi holding on to the last swaying platform.

Hidden Luigi #3Icicle Tower
Location. Jump up as the level begins and wall jump through the ceiling and you’ll discover an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #4Fire and Ice
Location. This Luigi is in the form of an Ice Sculpture right next to the first Star Coin.

Hidden Luigi #5Weighty Waddlewings
Location. As you approach the end of the level there will be several giant cannons, one of them will have Luigi’s face carved onto them instead of the usual skull.

Hidden Luigi #6 Ice-Slide Expressway
Location. Just near the third Star Coin you can find this Luigi hovering near it.

Hidden Luigi #7Peek-A-Boo Ghost House
Location. There’s a cobweb in the corner at the end of the level with Luigi’s likeness.

Hidden Luigi #8Wendy’s Thwomp Castle
Location. During the last round of Thwomps, there’s an 8 bit Luigi hiding behind one of them after they’ve dropped.

Hidden Luigi #9Fliprus Floes
Location. When you turn left at the start of the level you’ll find a hidden block, then jump up to find another hidden block, and then further to find a hidden 8 bit Luigi.

Soda Jungle

Hidden Luigi #1All Aboard!
Location. When the level starts, you can see Luigi’s face on the hull of the ship.

Hidden Luigi #2Giant Swing-Along
Location. When you reach the vine leading to the first Star Coin, you’ll notice you’ve destroyed a block at the bottom which uncovers an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #3Dancing Blocks, Poison Swamp
Location. When you grab onto the flag pole after finding the Secret Exit, you’ll notice an 8 bit luigi is also doing the same thing.

Hidden Luigi #4Heart of Bramball Woods
Location. Look to the right of the first Star Coin in the foreground, you’ll notice Luigi is also a part of the foreground.

Hidden Luigi #5Stone-Snake Tower
Location. This hidden Luigi is alongside the last Star Coin in the hidden area, you can get here by using an Acorn Mushroom.

Hidden Luigi #6Boo’s Favorite Haunt
Location. Just right to the door of the Secret Exit, there’s a Luigi Portrait.

Hidden Luigi #7Painted Pipeworks
Location. At the red pipe at the end of the level, there’s a Luigi painting near the red pipe.

Hidden Luigi #8Deepsea Stone-Eyes
Location. Another giant 8 bit Luigi, you can find it just alongside the third Star Coin.

Hidden Luigi #9Sumo Bro Bridge
Location. Take a good look at the branches which are supporting the sloping platform right before the last Star Coin and you’ll notice Luigi’s face.

Hidden Luigi #10Wriggler Floodlands
Location. Simply run left instead of right to find a hidden Luigi in the final area.

Hidden Luigi #11Iggy’s Swinging Chains Castle
Location. Keep moving forwards when the level begins until everything pans out, you’ll see a hidden Luigi below.

Hidden Luigi #12Para-Beetle Parade
Location. When you’re dodging the huge flaming bullet bill, you can see a hidden Luigi hiding amongst the beetles.

Rock Candy Mines

Location. Simply jump when you get the first Star Coin to see this hidden 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #2Porcupuffer Cabern
Location. When you get the second Star Coin, go to the pole on the right and climb down, you’ll notice an 8 bit Luigi already climbing the pole.

Hidden Luigi #3Smashing Stone Tower
Location. There’s a Luigi engraved in the middle of the room with the first Star Coin.

Hidden Luigi #4Spike’s Seesaws
Location. At the bottom of the second seesaw elevator, take out a Spike on the right to uncover an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #5Light-up Lift Tower
Location. Instead of jumping onto the Light up block elevator, jump to the far right to uncvoer an 8 bit Luigi at the bottom right.

Hidden Luigi #6Rising Pirhanas
Location. As you acquire the second Star Coin, you’ll notice Luigi carved out of a rock in the background.

Hidden Luigi #7Spine Coaster Stowaways
Location. As you grab the second Star Coin, look to the upper right to see an 8 bit Luigi in the rocks.

Hidden Luigi #8Sumo Bro’s Spinning Tower
Location. When you get the last Star Coin, just jump above and you’ll see an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #9Switch-Lift Express
Location. After you acquire the second Star Coin, hit the “?” switch which should be on the left and you’ll take out a Fire Bro who was previously trapped, simply move left past him and find a hidden area which will have an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #10Ryo’s Ironclad Castle
Location. As you move along the conver belt to get the second Star Coin, take a good look along the lava and you’ll see an 8 bit Luigi among the blocks.

Meringue Clouds

Hidden Luigi #1Frozen Fuzzies
Location. After you get the last Star Coin, there will be an Ice Bro in the next area, simply take him out to reveal an 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #2Wiggler Rodeo
Location. If you unleashed Chain Chomp into the blocked area with the Star, you can see a relatively large hidden Luigi behind the blocks.

Hidden Luigi #3Rainbow Skywalk
Location. When you’ve gotten the final Star Coin, head left to find a hidden pipe, there’s another pipe above it which you can enter, this will take you to an area with another one of those giant 8 bit Luigis.

Hidden Luigi #4Stonecrush Tower
Location. As you move to the second floor in the first room, you can see an image of Luigi carved into the stone.

Hidden Luigi #5Vanishing Ghost House
Location. As you go through the secret exit, there’s a very unique hidden Luigi hanging outside the doorway.

Hidden Luigi #6Above the bouncy clouds
Location. As you start the level, there should be a yellow pipe nearby with a Piranha plant, use Yoshi to defeat this plant, then an 8 bit Luigi will be revealed when the pipe reaches the bottom.

Hidden Luigi #7Flame Chomp Ferris Wheel
Location. As you start the level, you should take a good look at the cloud formation, you’ll notice the hidden Luigi sooner or later.

Hidden Luigi #8Three Headed Snake Block
Location. Use spin jump when jumping down to the snake block as the level begins and you’ll unveil an 8 bit Luigi hidden by the clouds.

Hidden Luigi #9Ludwig’s Moving Block-Press Castle
Location. When you enter the door to Ludwig’s battle, notice the wall before you go up the stairs and you’ll notice a shadow of Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #10Bowser JR. Shodown
Location. Simply clear out the coins along with the 3rd Star Coin to uncover the hidden Luigi.

Peach’s Castle

Hidden Luigi #1Magma Moat
Location. Simply reaching the goal of the Secret Exit will grant you with a Hidden Luigi statue as a reward.

Hidden Luigi #2Magmaw River Cruise
Location. As you enter the lava which has falling enemies, look carefully among the lava and you’ll see a very tiny 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #3Hot Cogs
Location. There will be a signpost next to the second Star Coin, simply use Groundpound on it to unveil a hidden Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #4Firefall Rising
Location. Take the first horizontally moving platforms all the way to the left through a secret area, after you do do this, jump up to the small platform in the middle and move towards the left to find the hidden Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #5Current Event
Location. You’ll need to be quick as you need to reach the last door before the lava rises and you’ll see a tiny 8 bit Luigi underneath the door.

Hidden Luigi #6The Final Battle
Location. As you reach the platform following the second Star Coin, you have to look very carefully to the bottom of the platform if you wish to see the Luigi Insignia.

Superstar Road

Hidden Luigi #1Spine Coaster Connections
Location. As soon as you spot the first group of fizzies, jump up to see an 8 bit Luigi above.

Hidden Luigi #2P-Switch Peril
Location. After you’ve fallen down the small shaft from the second Star Coin, don’t rush to move anywhere and simply break open the small pillar of blocks to uncover the hidden Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #3Star Coin Deep Dive
Location. As you approach the second Star Coin, there’s a red coin and a group of blocks around the lower area. You’ll need a Porcupuffer to eat the blocks to unveil the Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #4Hammerswing Hangout
Location. Keep looking at the right wall as the level progresses upwards and you’ll notice a small 8 bit Luigi hidden under a Fliprus.

Hidden Luigi #5Under Construction
Location. When an empty square surrounded by coins appears, you’ll need to hit it to take a vine block to a secret area, which will have contain a large Luigi similar to the model from Super Mario World.

Hidden Luigi #6Fire Bar Sprint
Location. Really easy as you just Ground pound the block stairs near the end of the level to reveal the hidden 8 bit Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #7Cloudy Capers
Location. If you still have your fire flower till the point you reach the third Star Coin, you’ll have to hijack the last Lakitu’s cloud while mid-air and move towards the exit.

You’ll need to be fast as time is really of the essence, you’ll see one of the Fuzzies at the bottom is riding a Luigi as you race towards the exit.

Hidden Luigi #8Impossible Pendulums
Location. Before you head into the pipe, move towards the right and jump below into the alcove, there you’ll find a secret area. Jump up from there to find the Luigi.

Hidden Luigi #9Flying Squirrel Ovations
Location. Carefully examine the glassy blocks as you’re falling down the level, they’ll gradually form an entire Luigi in the back ground.
