A collector’s edition for Batman: Arkham Origins will launch alongside the game in North America, Australia and New Zealand, Warner Bros. announced today.
The premium bundle will be priced at $120 for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game; including an abundant of collectible items.
Starting with the 9-inch Joker stature which comes with its own LED effects. Alongside that buyers will get hold of an 80-page artbook, a wanted poster for your office wall feature the caped crusader, and a Batwing prototype schematic. The bundle will also include a Wayne family photo, an Assassin’s intel dossier and a map of Gotham that will glow in the dark.
Leaving aside the physical contents, the collector’s edition will also feature various digital offerings.
The pre-order bonus of Deathstroke’s challenge pack will be included, a copy of Necessary Evil: Super Villains of DC Comics, the first appearance Batman skin and a feature-length documentary narrated by Lord of the Rings actor Christopher Lee will be present. Note though that the documentary will only be available in North American versions of the collector’s edition.
The PlayStation 3 version of the premium bundle will include an exclusive Knightfall pack, which I’m sure many console owners would appreciate.
Batman: Arkham origins is being developed by WB Games Montreal, while the multiplayer component is in the hands of Brink developer Splash Damage. It will take place before the events of the previous Arkham titles in a time when Batman is a new concept in Gotham city.
The law fears him, the citizens keep their distance and the villains underestimate him. Origins will feature a dozen super villains to whom Batman will be meeting for the very first time.
The game will officially launch for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on October 25.
