Mark Rubin, executive producer at Infinity Ward has posted a six second teaser clip on Twitter which clearly shows Call of Duty: Ghosts to feature a squad mode.
You can take a look at the supposed squads menu screen by following the link: http://twitpic.com/d65puf
There are three buttons visible on screen, one of which is blurred out beyond recognition. However, the other two spell “Options” and “Online Play”.
Infinity Ward has not made an official statement regarding squad play so far but appearance of the teaser video should suggest that it isn’t that far away.
It probably works similar to Spec-Ops mode but allows more than the two players to join and head into battle. With Gamescom just around the corner, I doubt Infinity Ward will rush their announcement.
The reveal will probably happen at Gamescom later this month, which probably will also include a multiplayer reveal.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is slated for release on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U on November 5. Separate versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are in development but it’s unknown as to when they will release.
A probably early 2014 release could work well with buyers of the next-gen systems.
