Ubisoft to Reveal a New IP at Gamescom 2013

Ubisoft has confirmed that they will reveal a new IP for next-gen consoles at Gamescom Germany later this month.

Not only this announcement but Gamescom will also bring forth first-hand experience of The Crew, Splinter Cell: Black List, Rayman Legends and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

As for the new IP, no further details were provided. However, a new title by Ubisoft called Child of Light will be talked over at GDC Europe, by the end of this month.

Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed creative director, Patrick Plourde is finally taking a break from his high budget triple-A titles and is concentrating more on Child of Light.

The description of his talk at GDC, reads,

“After working for many years on some of the biggest productions in the AAA game industry, Patrick challenged himself to create a game that would be the opposite: a small team, a small budget, and an intimate scope. The result was a game called ‘Child of Light’.”

It is quite unclear whether the IP to be unveiled at Gamescom is Child of Light or some other game!? But we do know that Ubisoft is striving hard to bring forth some excellent games this fall. Watch Dogs is a pretty impressive example of this. Getting an additional triple-A title from them would be a treat. We have our fingers-crossed!

Gamescom is scheduled to take place from 21st to 25th of August in Cologne, Germany while Europe Games Developers Conference will take place on 19th and 20th of August.
