Microsoft has confirmed that the next free games for Xbox 360 Gold subscribers are going to be Crackdown and Dead Rising 2. Additionally the standalone episode Case Zero for Dead Rising 2 will also be gifted.
Crackdown will be offered first starting from tomorrow until 16th August. After which, Microsoft will bring Dead Rising 2 and Case Zero until the end of the month.
The two games were spotted earlier prior to Microsoft’s announcement by Xbox 360 Online Center and then Polish retailer Ultima who posted promotional artwork of Crackdown.
As the month of July draws to a close, players have just mere hours to get a copy of Assassin’s Creed 2; which was July’s free game for Xbox 360 Gold members.
Games with Gold is a promotional program for Xbox Live Gold members where Microsoft gifts subscribers two Xbox 360 games every month. It allegedly is Microsoft’s response to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service which offers a much wider selection of games to download.
One major difference between the two is that Sony let’s you keep the games as long as you remain subscribed to PlayStation Plus. Microsoft on the other hand has no such demand and non-members can still access their free titles.
