Talking on a financial call Take Two, the company behind BioShock Infinite, Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops the Line shared quite a few donuts with the public. Top of the list though was the news that BioShock Infinite has touched up to 4 Million units of sales!
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of publisher Take Two was talking about the quarter to June 2013 where he has opened up to the media about the financials stating that:
“BioShock Infinite is North America’s best-selling multiplatform release so far this year, according to NPD. The title’s (sic) crossed the 4 million unit selling mark and we expect it to become the top-selling release in the BioShock franchise.”
The investor conference call was made post the financial report for the first quarter of YE 2014 were made public which brought the first person shooter frenzy to a limelight more shiny than the one it got from the recently introduced DLCs.
Only recently, BioShock Infinite had received three packs of popularized downloadable content. Clash in the Clouds is a combat focused mode while the other two DLCs form parts of a larger story; Burial at the Sea, an investigation based story that will take you back to Rapture.
Looks like things are looking up for the publishing house for the DLCs were received with quite a glee, and that comes with the fact that their CEO is more than happy with the financial position:
“Our better-than-expected first quarter results demonstrate that the market remains strong for the highest-quality interactive entertainment”.
