Konami is all set to go head to head with EA with the next installment in the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Having announced PES 14 just a while back, it is certainly a bold step on their part to have decided that they want to share the release date with FIFA 14.
Yes, that’s right PES 14 will be releasing on the 24th of September.
The release is limited to the North, Central and South America for some reason although looking at how they have scheduled it right next to FIFA 14 would suggest they aren’t really eyeing the Americas for sales – Asia has always performed better for them in the past.
Wielding some of the big names to advocate, PES 14 will include fully licensed UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League. Even with all those, the exclusive license for AFC Champions League could be something to identify Pro Evolution Soccer 14 with.
As always, Konami is sticking to lesser number of consoles and platforms like Wii U and Nintendo 3DS have been ignored, but the utter surprise was when NeoSeeker shared that they were skipping both the next gen consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Not to forget that handhelds have also been ignored.
So this is it, a big match among the two games that relay big matches – 24th of September! Let’s see if Pro Evolution Soccer 14 has the juice needed to put a dent to the sales figures of FIFA 14.
With better visuals thanks to a new development engine the game looks pretty superior to its forerunner from last year. The physics of the game will be based on six key elements namely: TrueBall Tech, Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S), Heart, PES ID, Team Play and The Core. You can read more about them here.
PES 14 runs the new FOX Engine of Kojima Productions which will now be tested for the first time on PES 14 with the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain coming later using this engine.
