Capcom Announces Side-scroller Strider For Xbox One, PS4

By   /   Jul 19, 2013

Capcom never fails to surprise me! With an exception of few times.

Anyway, at least it did not fail today with the announcement of Strider Hiryu’s return. In a recent announcement, Capcom confirmed a totally new game for the ninja assassin that is slated for a 2014 release both on all home-consoles – including next-gen – and PC.

This forthcoming side-scroller from Capcom is called Strider that will take place in Kazakh city. The Kazakh city is an amalgam of, “ornate Russian architecture and hard-edged futuristic high-rise buildings with sprawling energy cables and pipework.”

Precisely? It will be gigantic & technically advanced!

One of the biggest highlight of this game is that it will stick to its roots in terms of gameplay. There will be a wide motley of combat abilities & weapons at player’s disposal along with traditional quick combat.

A short introduction to the game’s storyline is here:

The year is Meio: 048, on an alternate dystopian future of Earth. The whole planet suffers under the oppressive, iron-fisted rule of the mysterious and omnipotent Grand Master Meio. An expert in sabotage and assassination, Hiryu is the youngest ever recruit to attain a Special A-Class in the hellish Strider training program, and is the only man capable of achieving the mission to eliminate Grand Master Meio.

Definitely sounds promising. Doesn’t it? Or maybe I have missed Strider so much. If I remember correctly, last time I saw Strider was in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Can’t wait to get more updates on this!

In the meanwhile, which things are on your wishlist regarding the upcoming Strider?
