The launch of Battlefield 4 this fall will be accompanied with a novel and art book tie-in, according to Electronic Arts.
The novel, titled Battlefield 4: Countdown to War, is written by Peter Grimsdale and published by Orion. Grimsdale is the author of Battlefield 3: The Russian, and his latest deals with a CIA agent named Kovic in Shangai, a location featured in the game’s single-player and multiplayer modes.
Agent Kovic, according to EA, is a “reliable operative but one whose bosses don’t trust [him].” The book will detail a backstory for the game’s campaign and will be available in hardcover and paperback on Oct 24 on Amazon.
Also, Titan Books will publish standard and limited editions for The Art of Battlefield 4 as a “high-end art book.”
Other items with Battlefield 4 branding include Razer gaming peripherals and accessories, PDP Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 controllers, Qpad mouse pads, Jinx apparel and Walls360 wall graphics.
Battlefield 4 will release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on Oct 29 and launch with the Xbox One and PS4.
