Street Fighter V Unlikely According to Series Producer

Yoshinori Ono, the legendary producer behind the Street Fighter games, has gone on record to say that the long awaited Street Fighter V isn’t happening right now. According to the man himself, he doesn’t have the budget, or the staff, necessary to make a whole new game.

Instead of working a brand new game altogether, the team are focussing entirely on Ultra Street Fighter IV, which will be the DLC add-on that brings five new characters to Super Street Fighter IV – Arcade Edition.

When you install the DLC, your game will be converted to the new Ultra Street Fighter IV, which is better than having to buy another game just to get access to the new characters (again).

Strange to hear, though; Ono also confirmed that there aren’t any plans to update the next-generation consoles with Ultra Street Fighter IV. This means that only the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of the game will be the latest marks.
