We’ve got a few new details about the upcoming Pokémon games that are to be released worldwide on October 12.
We know you’ve been chomping at the bit to hear about the new pocket monsters, as well as the games themselves and everything related to them. Well, you’ll definitely want to check out the above trailer as it’s loaded with gameplay and some great looks at the game.
The new professor has finally been introduced as Professor Sycamore, whose name continues the theme of Pokémon Professors named after trees.
He’ll be the one who’ll provide you with your choice of Fennekin, Froakie, or Chespin when you start the game, as well as introducing you to the amazing world of Pokémon as you start your adventure in the new region of Kalos.
We’ve also got some confirmation of new details about the two legendary monsters, Xerneas and Yveltal, who double up as the cover art for both versions of the game.
Xerneas, the blue deer-like monster that might remind you of something out of Princess Mononoke, is a fully fledged Fairy type (the new type being introduced in the sixth generation games).
The counterpart to Xerneas is Yveltal, who is a Dark/Flying type, which fits with the menacing bird-like look it has going for it. Both Xerneas and Yveltal will have some unique attacks that will be exclusive to them.
The trademark evil organization are Team Flare, following the likes of Teams Rocket, Magma/Aqua, Galactic, and Plasma. You’ll recognise them by their trademark orange suits.
The bad guys aren’t the only thing being introduced though, since we’ve also seen two of the gym leaders who will probably be vehemently opposed to Team Flare.
Grant and Clemont are our two new gym leaders, and they’re still to be followed by at least six others (as well as the usual Elite 4 arrangement).
