Remember E3 when Microsoft dazzled everyone with Xbox One games that ran smooth and looked crisp then everyone found out they were running on Windows 7 computers with Nvidia GTX 780 cards? Yeah, Microsoft doesn’t want that to happen again.
In fact, the games it’s showcasing to the public at the San Diego Comic Con are titles that have been confirmed to run on legit Xbox One development kits; titles such as Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5 and Killer Instinct.
Microsoft has 125,000 attendees to win over at Comic Con next weekend, and it needs every last bit of that body count to spin momentum in its favor. Microsoft won’t, however, hold a press conference at Comic Con like they will with GamesCom, a German event coming in August.
Comic Con will be the first event to see a panel discussion for the Xbox One, as the roundtable discussions at E3 were cancelled.
At the event, Microsoft will show off games at two separate locations: the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego Hotel, featuring Dead Rising 3, Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo 4 Championship Bundle and other Xbox 360, Windows 8 and Windows Phone titles.
Despite writing Japan off as a non-priority, Microsoft will also be at the Tokyo Game Show.
Comic Con begins July 19 and runs until July 21.
