DOTA 2 Officially Launches – Long Term Beta Testing Finally Put to Rest
And the moment we have all been waiting for so long is over at last!
Rejoice my fellow gamers as Valve has officially launched their long-awaited MOBA game – DotA 2.
DOTA 2 has been named after the original ‘Defense of the Ancients’; which was a mod for Warcraft 3, and it has been in the making for several years. The game was in the beta phase for over two years now and holds the record of having the largest players base on Steam with million players per month. The highest recorded number of players playing the game at the same time is expected to be somewhere around, 300,000.
Erik Johnson of the Valve thanked all the players who participated in the beta testing of the game and promises to make the game more enjoyable experience for the current and new players alike.
To put it in his words, “Thanks to those who participated in the beta and Workshop contributors, you’ve helped us build the game and define the infrastructure to support it. Our goal over the next few weeks is continue to make the game more enjoyable as more players are brought in. We hope to make it as smooth as possible for existing players and new players alike.”
DOTA 2 is now officially available on Steam exclusively for PC.
So it is finally here! What are your thoughts about the game? Will it be able to beat the fierce competitors like Riot and Blizzard? Do let us know in the Comment Section below!
