This week’s edition of Famitsu reveals Namco Bandai to have teamed up with Suda51 for Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, a side-scroller for the PS3.
The title is based on an upcoming film called Short Peace from Katsuhiro Otomo, who to those not knowing is the creator of Akira. Short Peace will hit theaters later this month and is made up of four short films; each with its own style and story. The fifth film in the series will the video game Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day.
Goichi Suda from Suda51 is writing the game while director Yohei Kataoka will be directing it. While neither party has come forward with details, the web puts it as a 2D side-scrolling “high-speed effect action” game, that will require the use of “effects” to take out enemies. The game’s theme will be in a modern day Japan setting.
Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day is currently in development for PlayStation 3 and seems like to be an exclusive one at that.
