EA Sports has released the official box art of the new next-gen FIFA 14 title for all three platforms: PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The front art once again features Lionel Messi, the star striker of Barcelona. However, the publisher has confirmed that additional footballers will be revealed later for each region over the summer.
FIFA 14 is confirmed for release in UK on September 27 and a day earlier in the US. The game’s next-gen versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have also been said to release in time for Christmas.
Previously EA Sports revealed that the PC version would be toned down and not include the features boasted by their new Ignite Engine. The reason stated was that the average user’s PC rig will not be able to run the game smoothly. Hence, the ‘real’ or next-gen version has been saved for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only.
Personally I would call the new FIFA 14 as just FIFA 13 but with updated kits and players. The only new attractive factor in the game was the potential of the Ignite Engine. It’s saddening to know that the PC community won’t be able to set their teeth into that.
