The Last of Us Factions Guide – Loadouts, Weapons, Survivor Skills

By   /   Jun 25, 2013

In ‘The Last of Us’ faction mode, you join with either the Fireflies or the Hunters to make the survival of you and your clan much easier.

For more help on The Last of Us Factions, read our Map Strategy Guide.

The Last of Us Factions

After forming your clan, you will then have the option of choosing the sides with either the Hunter or the Fireflies. However, choosing either one of them will give you no combat advantage what-so-ever!

Hunters
The biggest highlight of the Hunters is that they are able to craft weapons and other equipment from whatever sources they can find including any trash. The Hunter are also quite honest towards their clan and do whatever they can for the survival of their clan along with constantly trying to increase their numbers.

Fireflies
Fireflies were thrown out of the area because of having political beliefs. They also believe that there is a cure somewhere that can be found. They are friendly by nature and accept anyone who wants to join their cause but won’t tolerate anything against their beliefs.

Adding People to your Clan
You are able to add people to your clan using your Facebook friend’s list. This customizes your clan in a way and will not appear on your Facebook Timeline or Newsfeed.

Seeing your Clan
You can see different information regarding you clan in the Clan Screen such as:

  • The duration since you have been fighting and for which faction.
  • How much supplies does your clan consume in one day and how much you have left!
  • Information about how many members are there in your clan along with their condition. If you don’t meet the daily requirement of you clan members, there is a good chance that they will become sick.
  • The activities of your different clan members; meaning what your clan members are up to, whether they are sick or looking for food or have died. All information will be displayed here.

Multiplayer Modes

There are two multiplayer modes in ‘The Last of Us’, Supply Raid and Survivors. Both of these game modes offer so many things that help in the progression of your clan.

Survivors mode is based on best of 7 rounds meaning the team which wins 4 rounds first, wins the match. The player limit in each of these modes is 8 – 4 players from each team can participate in them.

Supply Raid
In ‘Supply Raid’, players will either join the Hunters or the Fireflies based on their preference; then scavenge for supplies in order to make your clan survive longer.

Each team has a total of twenty lives that they can utilize. After that the game goes into Sudden Death mode meaning that players will no longer re-spawn. However, the crafted items and scavenged supplies will remain with the players after re-spawning.

Survivors
As I have mentioned above that in ‘Survivors mode’, there are a total of 7 rounds and the first team to win 4 rounds will the match. Players do not re-spawn in this mode and any crafted items and supplies will not be available in the second round.

After a team has killed every player of the other team, the round ends and the next round begins. The most important key to win this game mode is to use any crafted item that you have created as soon as possible.

Customizing your Loadout

In multiplayer mode, players are also able to customize their loadout. There are a total of 4 loadout slots available to players.

In a loadout slot, there are two weapon slots. One for primary weapon and one for secondary weapon, four survival skill slots and one for equipment you have purchased.

After beginning a clan, players will be able to use 8 loadout points in these slots. However, as their clan and supplies grow bigger, they will able to use 13 loadout points instead of 8.

To earn all these 13 loadout points, players will have to earn supplies. The number of supplies a clan earns determines the amount of loadout points. Below is a brief detail:

  • Unlock 75 skills to unlock 9 loadout points.
  • Unlock 525 skills to unlock 10 loadout points.
  • Unlock 1650 skills to unlock 11 loadout points.
  • Unlock 3825 skills to unlock 12 loadout points.
  • Unlock 7500 skills to unlock 13 loadout points.

One-Use Boosters

Players will be able to select one-use boosters after selecting their loadout. One-use booster will allow players to receive special power-ups that they can use in a match.

For every 5 members in a clan, players will receive a one-use booster. So if you increase the number of members in a clan increase from 5 to 10 then that clan will unlock a one-use booster. However, if one of them dies then the next one-use booster will unlock at 15 members instead of 14.

Following are some one-use booster with their effects:

  • Starting ammo multiplier gives you 25% more ammo.
  • Cheaper ammo gives you 25% off on all ammo prices.
  • Armor gives you 25% cheap armor.
  • Cheaper purchased weapons give you 25% cheap weapons.
  • Starting small firearms upgrade lets you start with level 1 upgrade.
  • Starting large firearms upgrade lets you start with level 1 upgrade.
  • Increased parts earnings give you 10% more parts earned.
