Ellen Page Speaks About Her Likeness To The Last Of Us’ Ellie
The internet has been fairly vocal and rampant regarding Ellen Page’s likeness to Ellie from The Last of Us. However, where the internet trolls have done a fine job messing things up, we have yet to hear from Page herself.
In a recent Reddit ‘Ask Me Anything’ session, Ellen Page logged on to her official Reddit account to answer some questions from fans.
It wasn’t long before someone asked, “Have you seen any footage of ‘The Last of Us’ and would you have taken the role as Ellie if approached?” Page responded, “I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond: Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”
Even we have to agree that the similarities between Ellie and Ellen are too much to wave away. It has to be asked whether this is a pure coincidence or that they really had Beyond: Two Souls in mind during the development of The Last of Us?
While answering more questions from fans on Reddit, Page talked about Beyond: Two Souls as well and how her experience has been incredible.
“Making Beyond was an incredible experience. I think what David Cage is doing is really remarkable, the first of its kind and I feel grateful to be involved.”
“I played video games more when I was a kid. I had Sega Genesis and was a HUGE Sonic fan. I also love the NHL games and played them with my brother all time. Then I was super into PlayStation and loved the FIFA games. I recently played my first video game in a while. I played the latest Tomb Raider and really enjoyed it, finished in about 12 hours.”
Beyond: Two Souls is scheduled for release on October 8 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
