Gamestop has currently stopped taking anymore pre-orders for Xbox One. The retailer confirmed this to Polygon that the reason behind this is that the demand for Xbox One has exceeded the limited supply of Day One edition they have been provided by Microsoft.
Players will be able to pre-order the mentioned items both from the online store and retail outlets.
The statement provided by the retailer reads, “Due to high demand, GameStop is not taking additional store reservations for the Xbox One Day One Edition. In the meantime, the Xbox One wireless controller and top Xbox One games like: Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, and Kinect Sports Rivals are available for pre-order at all GameStop stores or online.”
However, if you still wish to pre-order the forthcoming Xbox One then you can with a minimum of $100 deposit at Gamestop’s online store or you can always head to Amazon as they are still taking the orders.
And as for pre-orders for Playstation 4, the retailer is still processing them because according to the store managers, Sony has provided them with more console units than Microsoft’s.
To put it into his words, “We were only given an allocation of 16 Xbox Ones but we have 60 PlayStation 4s and we’re still taking orders.”
