Battlefield 4 Alpha Testing Starts Tomorrow
If you have been counting the seconds till the Battlefield 4 Alpha would be up then you need not wait any longer, because the invites are being sent at this very moment, with the alpha itself going live tomorrow.
If you haven’t received an email, better sit back down and wait for the beta, because there isn’t going to be a second batch of invites going around. If you’re in, you’re in, if not, tough luck.
Since this is a alpha version, be mindful of the fact that this is probably a really early build of the game, with lots of assets missing and placeholder textures and missing lighting and animations. This isn’t going to look anything like what you saw in the E3 trailers and demos.
Apparently the trial’s most important task is to test the servers to make sure that when the game launches, there are as little problems and hiccups as possible. If you’re going to be testing it on the PC, check to see if your rig fulfills these requirements.
- OS: Vista SP2, Win7 (Win8 not supported)
- 64 bit (32 bit not supported)
- Dx10 or Dx 11 GPU with 1+GB of RAM, Dx 11 highly recommended
- 25GB HDD free space required
- Latest Origin version required
The alpha will go on for two weeks and will end on the first of July. Battlefield 4 launches this fall on October 29, for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with next-generation consoles’ release date to be announced in the near future.
