Apart from being one of the most anticipated games at E3 and having an upcoming Novel to its name, Assassin’s Creed 4 has a lot more to offer. It was confirmed at E3 that Aveline, the lead character of Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation will be featured in the game.

Ubisoft has a long-standing partnership with Sony, and though the game is all set to be released on PC, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One along with PS3 and PS4; the playable character in question will be exclusive to PS3 and PS4 versions!

Assassin’s Creed 4 is set in the year 1715 a generation or two before Liberation that ends in the year 1777 which means that the introduction of Aveline would be through Animus upgrades.

It is clear that the lead character in Black Flag is going to be Edward Kenway – the grandfather of Haytham Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 3, therefore Aveline wouldn’t be a full time playable character. It would be an hour of gameplay in fact, as confirmed by Adam Boyes at Sony’s official briefing:

Ubisoft is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of play and that is why we are expanding our partnership with PlayStation to bring PlayStation fans one-of-a-kind content for two of the year’s most anticipated games, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Watch Dogs. With an hour of exclusive gameplay for each title, yet again we are blazing new trails by providing more unique experiences that can only be found on PlayStation.

Set for release on October 29th Black Flag ha a lot of juice to it – what with the piratical storyline and an acclaimed yet feared pirate captain as a lead character going out on his ship for assassinations and bonus chapters like that of Aveline’s; it is worth the wait.
