One of my favorite developers, CD Projekt Red is as surprised as were we when we took a look at the list of countries approved for the Xbox One at launch.
Why is this list so important you ask? Well taking into account that the Xbox One needs to be kept in touch with the Microsoft servers at least once a day, the very system works only in the countries listed. So if your country is missing from the approved listing, buying an Xbox One will be of no use to you.
On the Xbox 360, we were able to signify country and avail service with disregard to whether we even resided in the stated country or not. However, that won’t work with the Xbox One.
CD Projekt Red’s homeland Poland is one country missing out of the Xbox One list. Marcin Iwinski, co-founder and joint CEO of the studio wasn’t too pleased with the news and when asked for a comment simply said that the list needs to be revised.
“I was just in a restaurant and saw the list,” Iwinski said. “I was surprised, and I really hope that it isn’t final. I think Polish gamers will speak out loud. From my perspective, it’s a sad situation.”
@crofna Unsupported countries would not have the full experience, and may not work. ^PC
