Disappointed? You should be. Against popular assumption that Deus Ex: The Fall was a sequel to Human Revolution, Eidos has now revealed that it actually is a mobile game instead.
Deus Ex: The Fall stars a brand new lead character and takes you back to 2027, a time when production of human augmentations has commenced. To undergo the painful procedure, these augmented people to-be are given drugs which is where Ben Saxon comes in.
Saxon is a mercenary with physical augmentations done to help make him a better solider. He stumbles upon a conspiracy behind the drugs and decides to investigate, for it may put the lives of every augmented human at risk. As he pushes forward, he is betrayed by his private military employers, the Tyrants and finds himself as a smoking target for annihilation.
Visually The Fall looks pretty similar to what we saw with Human Revolution. Square Enix has promised to incorporate exploration, player choices, and maintain that “full Deus Ex experience” which we all have come to love.
“We’re really excited to continue the Deus Ex series on mobile and start a new journey,” said Jean-François Dugas, Executive Game Director at Eidos Montreal. “The team has done an incredible job creating a whole new story and controls for intuitive touch screen gameplay, whilst staying true to the Deus Ex universe. Players can expect exploration, action, hacking, stealth, social enhancers, player choice and consequence- the full Deus Ex experience.”
Deus Ex: The Fall will release this summer for mobile devices and tablets for $6.99 / £4.99 / 5.99€.
