A recent job listing spotted for 343 Industries suggests the Halo developer wanting to take the game’s multiplayer to new heights.
The job vacancy calls for a multiplayer designer who can design and develop “revolutionary multiplayer experiences” for an upcoming Halo game. The selected candidate will then create all-new multiplayer game modes using the developer’s internal scripting engine.
The job listing was posted Friday, May 31, 2013, and by its account, applications will “help shape the future of the Halo franchise on both current and future Halo titles.”
Lastly, the job listing asks for “extensive” Halo competitive multiplayer experience from the candidate and should have at least shipped one AAA title with his/her work in the game’s multiplayer.
While the description does not contain the name of the new Halo title; 343 Industries has already confirmed Halo 5 and Halo 6 as part of the Reclaimer Trilogy.
I think it’s safe to assume that Halo 5 is already in 343’s pipelines, and we’ll be hearing about it soon. That too could be sooner than we’d hope for. Microsoft E3 conference is just around the corner and what better way to kick things off than by announcing Halo 5 as a launch title for the Xbox One.
Then again, it seems highly unlikely of Microsoft to release a new Halo when the last one was just released a year ago. Make no mistake, Halo 5 makes up for the 15 exclusives promised to us for the Xbox One, but it’s probably going to see shelves sometime next year.
